About Meditation 

HI teach mindfulness meditation, a meditation that practices paying attention.  Practicing Meditation brings awareness to our reactions and patterns of coping and in this way, helps us to manage them. 

Meditation has been shown to help:
  • reduce anxiety and depression. 
  • support people with chronic pain.  
  • improve sleep, reduce fatigue and temper hot flashes.  
 
While there is no one single answer to some of life’s challenges, coupled with your good knowledge and traditional medicine, meditation has been shown, through scientific research, to be an important factor in supporting balance and promoting well-being.
 
If you have been weighed down by anxiety, worry, depression, pain or other life affecting challenges, meditation can help you find understanding and balance.  
While it can seem easier to be in emotionally familiar places the toll of stress is real and unrelenting.

Recent Studies Show:

  • Neurological pathways can continue to grow and reshape themselves
  • Our behaviors, lifestyle choices and attitudes can potentially influence what genes are turned on and off, possibly impacting our susceptibility to disease
  • Meditation probably has a protective influence on the health of our telomeres (structures at the end of the chromosomes necessary for cell division)
